Greetings and welcome to The Elevators Band’s official website. We’re excited to finally be online and have the opportunity to let you know what's going on. We've taken some time off from the road to explore some new directions and have come back with a new line up and exciting plans for the future.
HISTORY
Some history about The Elevators. The band officially started performing in and around the Sacramento area at coffee houses and small venues as they developed their style. The original line up consisted of Jeff Carl on guitar and vocals, Leonard Carillo on bass guitar and vocals, Ken Killian on guitar and vocals and George Goorabian on drums. The band grew in popularity as they began to deliver a sound very reminiscent to the '60's, '70's style of music. With their original songs and familiar sound The Elevators began to attract a larger audience base.
In 1996 the band headed into the studio to record their
debut album entitled The Elevators. It was meet with
great reviews and the band hit the road to promote
their work travailing across the US meeting thousands
of enthusiastic fans as they traveled the U.S.
Shortly after the album was released, Ken Killian, our
lead guitar player decided to pursue a different road in
his life and begin a family. In stepped Ken Goorabian
from Los Angles and the brother of George our drummer.
Kenny came from a very popular group from the '80's
called Steel Breeze.
The band had a number of hits one being "You Don't
Love Me Anymore" . The hit brought the band international
fame.
With the new line up, The Elevators hit the road hard for the next two years. In 1999 the band decided to begin laying tracks down for there second album entitled "I'm Free". Recorded once again at the Sound Solution Studio in Fair Oaks, the album was released
in 2000. Taking the concert schedule a little lighter this time, The Elevators began to scale down their schedule to selected dates. Lead vocalist Jeff Carl moved his family to Missouri for a change in scenery and with Ken Gooraibian residing in Los Angles it became more difficult to schedule smaller venues.
In early 2002 The Elevators decided to take a much needed vacation. They had no idea that the vacation would last six years. With the time off it gave the band members an opportunity to explore some different challenges in their lives and family. In 2008 The Elevators were asked to make a special appearance at a private event and thus the two original members of the band, Jeff Carl and Leonard Carillo began to reform the band with some new members (see "Band") and resurrect the familiar sounds and excitement that The Elevators once brought to the stage with new and improved sound and a few additions to the bands line up.
We hope you get to experiance The Elevators and enjoy the original sound and rmanise with some hits of the '60's, '70's and present.
